2 Bedroom Cottage in Cloughton
This delightfully converted chapel, peacefully tucked away off the High Street in the village of Cloughton, has allowed guests to enjoy this beautiful part of the country for many years.
Quietly located on a private lane with a footpath leading to Cloughton Cricket Field and Cloughton Recreation Ground, this beautifully presented cottage is ideal for families and friends who wish to explore the coast and countryside of North Yorkshire. Upon entering the property, guests are greeted by a large, open living area with a stylish, well-equipped kitchen, dining, and sitting area. The double-height living area evokes a sense of grandeur and openness, enhanced by beautiful pendant lights. The property benefits from a downstairs WC/utility room in addition to the house bathroom on the first floor. The cottage offers ample, good-quality, comfortable seating for your relaxation in the evenings after a day out in the lovely surrounding area. There is a smart TV and a selection of board games to enjoy while relaxing. Guests can choose to either warm up beside the woodburning stove or open the patio doors to sit outside in the courtyard, depending on the season. When sleep calls, you can retire up the spiral staircase to the mezzanine first floor, overlooking the sitting area. There you will find pretty king-sized and twin bedrooms featuring exposed beams and traditional vaulted ceilings, plus the house bathroom with its sizeable bath tub for that perfect soak and a powerful shower. If you can tear yourself away from your lovely new base, there are fantastic walks and bike rides right on the doorstep. The Cleveland Way provides access to coastal walks through Hayburn Wyke waterfalls towards Whitby or Scarborough. This allows guests to take in the stunning local scenery, wildlife, and to access secluded beaches en route. There is also the disused railway, where you can cycle to Whitby or Scarborough. Scarborough offers beautiful beaches, the Open Air Theatre, a castle, a famous cricket ground, stunning Peaseholme Park, and much more. The historic town of Whitby also boasts lovely beaches, the Dracula Experience, boat trips, the incredible Abbey, and, of course, delightful fish and chips. Cloughton is a rural hamlet with two pubs, the Red Lion and the Blacksmiths Arms. There are other pubs and eateries nearby, as well as a village shop in the nearby village of Burniston. There is a reliable bus service which can take you further afield to the quaint village of Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby and Scarborough for a very modest fare. The village is also on the doorstep of the North York Moors National Park with its famous Steam Trains, hiking, mountain biking and historic sites. With all this and so much more, it's no wonder guests return to this charming cottage at any time of the year.
