Summary: I arrived to stay for a gig and was met by the owner at the front door. I introduced myself and was asked for the fee and told it was cash only so I wouldn't receive the key until I'd brought cash and then I was directed to walk 10 minutes to the nearest cashpoint. Not a great start. On return I was given a key and told not to be late for breakfast.
