Enter on the ground floor, and head up the oak staircase into the main open-plan living area. This is a highlight of Talvan, with its super light and airy space that can accommodate up to six guests.
To your left at the top of the first staircase are separate cloakroom and utility rooms. There are lounge and office areas together with three indoor dining options: the kitchen island bar; the breakfast area, with feature stone wall; and a more formal oak dining area. The huge glass windows, a fantastic balcony and courtyard area provide an ever-changing seascape.
Upstairs on the second floor, the home boasts three stunning bedrooms, the master bedroom with ensuite wetroom and shower and a spectacular sea view. With two additional double bedrooms, complete with a jack-and-jill bathroom with jacuzzi bath and separate shower.
There’s nothing like salty air, the sound of waves and a sea view to lift the soul. Guests can enjoy a stunning terrace with sofa seating overlooking the coastal views, and a second terrace with a large table and chairs for enjoying meals alfresco.
There is also plenty of off-road parking on a good-sized driveway which would accommodate up to three cars. Talvan is situated in the forgotten pocket of south-east Cornwall on cliffs above the sea. Lesser known than its bustling neighbours of Looe and Polperro, it’s the perfect place to hide out in a Cornish holiday cottage. The lovely stretch of sand and shingle beach making it a wonderfully peaceful holiday destination. There is also plenty to do nearby, should you feel like exploring. This part of the coast is also home to many more bays including Talland, and Millendreath, Portwrinkle, Tregantle and the numerous sandy coves at Whitsand Bay are fewer than 15 minutes’ drive away.
