It lies at the tip of the Manhood Peninsula and is almost an island, surrounded on three sides by the sea, and on the fourth side by the Broad Rife, a local stream. A promenade runs from East Beach to Selsey centre, which is great for an afternoon stroll, plus there are plenty of places to enjoy some seafood and chips. Selsey Bill Lifeboat Station is also worth a visit with its small museum and shop; it is a working lifeboat station and has a fantastic viewing platform.
This area of the south coast has a huge host of local attractions to keep everyone entertained. With Chichester just a short drive away, a stunning cathedral city with fantastic selection of independent shops, a theatre and an array pubs and restaurants, it is a city not to be missed. The world-famous Goodwood Estate, known for its racing, golfing and horse racing, and home to the famous Festival of Speed and Revival, is less than a 30-minute drive away. For those who enjoy walking, the stunning South Downs and plenty of unspoilt beaches are nearby, including the sandy dunes of The Witterings. Bustling Portsmouth, with its historic dockyard, Spinnaker Tower and designer outlet shopping, is easily accessible by car.
