Just 5 miles away is the city of Norwich with theatres, castle museum, cathedral, art galleries, market square, two indoor shopping malls and plenty of restaurants and cafés. Wroxham, known as the capital of the famous Norfolk Broads, is just 4 miles away, with waterside restaurants, cafés and a variety of shops, daily boat hire and river trips. There is also a train station and miniature model village. Wonderful sandy beaches can be found at Sea Palling, 15 miles, Waxham, 16 miles, Hemsby and Winterton-on-Sea, both 18 miles.
National Trust stately homes, parks and gardens are all within the surrounding area including Blickling Hall, Felbrrigg Hall, Oxburgh Hall, Sheringham Gardens and Houghton Hall.
